I obtained my medical qualifications from the University of Sydney, graduating in 1990. Over the following two years I worked at Westmead, Nepean, Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals gaining experience in general medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, paediatrics, and psychiatry.
I decided to pursue a career in general practice and obtained my fellowship with the Royal Australia College of General Practitioners (RACGP). I have worked in general practice in the suburbs of St Marys, Hurlstone Park, Burwood, Newport, and now Mona Vale. I spent six months in community paediatrics as an outreach from Canterbury Hospital and have obtained my certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health with Family Planning Australia.
I enjoy all aspects of general practice and family medicine with a particular focus on women’s health, paediatrics, mental health and preventative health. I find general practice immensely rewarding for the variety it provides and also the long term relationships that can be established with patients and their families. I endeavour to provide a high standard of medical care to my patients in a professional, non-judgmental and caring way. I feel it is important to take time to listen to my patients’ needs and involve them in every aspect of their care and management.
Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors, bushwalking, cooking, watercolour painting, crafts, travelling and creating special memories with my family.
